The Hardin Center's Courtyard is by far one of its most defining spaces. The Courtyard is surrounded by 2-story walls on all sides, connected the Hardin center through the lobby, and accessible from Broad Street through a charming alley. The walls of the Courtyard feature troump l'oeil murals and an iron balcony that give it a spectacular atmosphere like none other. Many visitors comment that the murals, ironwork, fountain, plantings, brick pavers, and furniture remind them of a charming Mobile courtyard or New Orleans café. An elevated stage in one corner of the Courtyard and the Venetian-style electric lights strung high above allow it to be utilized both day and night for entertainment and excitement. The breathtaking Courtyard is available for $150 to non-profits, proms, and reunions, and $250 for all others. |
