Current Programming

These are the programs that we are currently offering through Imagination Place Children's Museum. All programs can be modified to be age-appropriate and most programs can adapted for an outreach program that we will bring to your school.

Things with Wings
Explore insects and their world.  Younger children will explore the life cycle of the Blue Morpho Butterfly and older children (3rd grade and up) will explore insect flight and vision using art and scientific experimentation, including a look into their ultra-violet world.

Illusions and Perception
Use illusions to explore the mysterious world of your brain.  Map your taste buds, test your sense of touch and perception.  Uncover the secrets of visual illusions and create your own.

3-D Geometry
Learn how to identify and create three dimensional geometric forms including cubes, tetrahedrons and octahedrons then use them to make your own original three dimensional sculpture.

Oobleck
Children lean scientific inquiry by investigating the properties of matter with this interesting, Non-Newtonian fluid.

Science of Ice Cream
Dish through the secrets of this delicious dessert. Discover the amazing, changing states of matter in this tasty experiment.

And Now, the Weather
What's the weather like today? Find out in this informative program that examines tornados and other weather phenomena. Discover how the weather constantly changes.

Southeastern Native Americans
Let our educators guide students through the fascinating and often misunderstood world of Southeastern Native American culture. Examine artifacts, create a clay pinch pot and learn a traditional story from a local tribe.

StarLab
Gaze into an infinitely vast universe of stars and celestial bodies while learning basic astronomy and Greek mythology in our portable planetarium. The StarLab program is adjustable for any season of the year and can be programmed to suit all ages. For outreach, 20 square feet of space with at least a 15' ceiling clearance is necessary.

Build It!
Construct with some pretty unusual building materials and learn some basic facts about engineering for strength and form.

Baffling Bubbles
Become a bubble-ologist by learning how bubbles are made and by making some amazing bubbles.

Wildlife Scavenger Hunt at the James D. Martin Wild Life Park
How many species can you spot?  Explore the birds and insects that inhabit our local wildlife park.
