Hi! My name is Lawren Brianna Ware. I am a 14-year-old student at Gadsden Middle School, and am a member of the Etowah Youth Orchestras (EYO), where I play violin. I have participated in the EYO for 3 years, with an initial involvement in the June Moore Bugg Prelude Strings. Presently, I am 6th Chair First Violin of the Etowah Youth Symphony Orchestra. I am a member of the Alabama Federation of Music Clubs, a first place winner in the National Federation’s Junior Composers’ Competition, and as a first year member of the EYSO, I earned the seat of Assistant Principal Second Violin. Some of my additional accomplishments include a Duke TIP scholar, recipient of the President’s Award for Educational Excellence, a National Junior Beta Club member, nominee to the Junior National Young Leaders’ Conference, outstanding ratings at the Alabama Music Teachers’ Association auditions, selected to the Alabama All-State Orchestra Festival, 3rd runner-up in the Pre-Teen America Scholarship and Recognition Program, and an all A Honor Roll achiever since kindergarten.

1. How did your musical career begin?
My musical career began at age 5 with the study of piano under Mrs. Judy Hicks. I developed an interest in violin in elementary school (age 10 – Mrs. Nancy Gardner).
2. Who are your primary musical influences?
My primary musical influence has come from my parents and extended family, Mrs. Judy Hicks, Mrs. Nancy Gardner, and Olga Shpitko.
3. What do you like to listen to when you aren't playing your instrument?
When not playing my instruments, I like listening to classical music, movie sound tracks, and some R&B and hip-hop.
4. What are your hobbies outside of music?
My hobbies outside of music include cooking, crocheting, reading, playing tennis and basketball, and designing fashions
5. What has been your greatest opportunity provided to you because of your musical talent?
The greatest opportunity provided to me because of my musical talent is to travel to New York City to perform at Carnegie Hall.
6. What are your favorite movies or television shows?
My favorite movies are Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Harry Potter. My favorite TV show is “American Idol.”
7. You can have dinner with any four people, living or dead. Who would they be?
The four people that I would have dinner with would be my maternal and paternal grandmothers, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Oprah Winfrey.
8. What are your plans after high school?
Upon completion of high school, I plan to attend college and major in music. I would like to have my own music/performing arts studio, teach music, and write scores for movies.
9. Who is your favorite historical figure?
My favorite historical figure is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
